 | Darkness of tint is measured by the percentage of visible light transmission (VLT%). In the state of Oregon, this percentage refers to the percentage of visible light allowed through the glass and film combined. The state legal VLT percentage limit for Oregon is 35% for the front and rear sides, and the rear window. This means that once your tint has been applied it must allow more than 35% of outside light in. Tinting of a complete windshield is against the law in the state of Oregon. Window tint is only allowed along the top six inches of the windshield and it must be of a non-reflective type.
Some window tint can contain metallic elements similar to sunglasses that helps reflect incoming light. Oregon law states that automotive tint applied to a vehicle must not have a reflective property of more than 13%. At this time Sounds Fast does not sell and install reflective style tint. It can be special ordered if you require it.
If your vehicle was equipped with tinted rear windows during production then your vehicle is exempt from the 35% rule on your rear windows only. The front two side windows still fall under the 35% law.
Oregon has some other laws to take into consideration when having your windows tinted. Colored tint such as red, amber, and green are illegal to use in Oregon. If you have your rear window tinted then you are required to have a functioning driver and passenger side rear view mirror. The film you have applied must be certified by the state of Oregon (SunTek 35% film applied by Sounds Fast is state certified). Oregon allows some medical exemptions for darker tint then the state limit. Check with your doctor or ophthalmologist to see if you qualify.

| | Testimonials Dear Sounds Fast, On behalf of all of us at Helping 541, thank you very much for your recent contribution. We are extremely grateful for your generosity. Your contribution came at a crucial time and allowed us to purchase gift cards from clothing stores and food coupons from local establishments to give to these teens that would otherwise have nothing during this past holiday season. Now, thanks to you; there were smiles and spirits uplifted and hope restored that could not have happened without people like you.
Thank you

Hi Dave, this is Jessica LaMere. I wanted to Thank You again so much for helping me out. All of you guys were great. Ranae told me you guys were the one's who helped out Shane and I really wanted to take my business to you guys just for the fact that you all helped and supported Shane. If I ever need anything else I will be back for sure. I really wish there were a lot more people in the world that would care enough to help people out that are in a terrible situation as we are. I cannot thank you guys enough. My son's site is: www.caringbridge.org/visit/johngrable and it has a lot more info about John's cancer, my son Joey's heart defect, and also about my son Marshall who passed away from SIDS in 2001.
Thank You so much,
Jessica LaMere
