Security and Remote Start

Security

Did you know that over a million vehicles will be stolen this year. Don’t be a statistic, and don’t believe that having only a factory security system (that typically only includes keyless entry with door sensors) will provide the protection you need to keep your vehicle and its contents safe.

Security systems have a wide range of options. Features vary by brand and model but may include:

*1-Way or 2-Way communication Operating range up to 6,000 feet

*Impact Sensor

*Glass Break Sensor

*Remote lock and unlock of doors/ trunk

*Back up Battery

*Siren

*Panic Button

Starter Interrupt

*Trunk Protection

*Remote Start function

Remote Start Systems

Getting a remote start system installed into your vehicle by Sounds Fast can save you time and make driving in cold (or hot too!) weather far less of a chore than it usually is. With literally a push of a button, you can make this year's switch to cold temperatures as slick as the ice that will soon be disappearing from your windshield. Remote starts are easy for any driver to use: simply press a button on your remote from your cozy location indoors and the car turns on. You can also turn off your car using your remote if your plans have changed. The vehicle will stay locked until you unlock it and you'll know the remote start worked because your parking lights will flash to confirm that the signal was successful. It is important to keep in mind that you will need to actually turn your key in the ignition in order to put your car into gear. What Else Can a Remote Start Do? We explained how a basic remote start works but there are many models that come with extra features that can further enhance the convenience of a remote start system. There are systems that can also include complete security, temperature sensors that automatically start the car when the temperature falls to a set level, the ability to start your car from anywhere in the world via your SmartPhone, and other fantastic features. You have a lot of options when it comes to remote start systems and if you give us a call 541-312-4332 or come in, we can help you choose what will work best for your vehicle and lifestyle. We will make sure that the remote start is compatible with your vehicle and that it is installed correctly.

Smartphone Integration

With DroneMobile there is no need to carry an additional transmitter for remote start or locking and unlocking your vehicle; use your iPhone instead. In addition to basic vehicle control, the app offers expanded control over sliding doors, heated seats, vehicle security, and much, much more.

Ever wanted to locate or track your vehicle? Simply click the Map icon within the DroneMobile app for your vehicles current location displayed on a map. Along with your vehicle's location, you can view any available vehicle status information, such as your vehicle's battery voltage, temperature, alarm status, speed and more.

Would it be nice to know if your factory or aftermarket alarm went off? View the latest in push alerts by clicking the Alerts icon for detailed alert information, such as the zone triggered, vehicle name and time of alert.

Why should Soundsfast install your security or remote start system?

The most important part of any remote start or security system is the installation. You can purchase the most advanced kit on the market and if it isn't installed properly it can cause all kinds of headaches for you. Today's vehicles are complicated thanks to transponder keys, factory anti-theft systems, and multiplexed door lock systems. If somebody isn't familiar with working with these systems then the installation should be left to the professionals.

To help reduce vehicle theft, car manufactures are equipping the vehicle's key with a transponder chip. These chips keep the vehicle from starting unless the vehicle "sees" the key in the ignition. If your vehicle is equipped with a transponder key, an interface module will be needed (at an extra cost) at the time of installation. A majority of these modules are vehicle specific. In the rare occurrence a module is not made for your vehicle we will then use a universal module. Please stop by today and we will be able to tell you which module your vehicle needs.

Vehicle manufactures are trying to reduce the amount of wiring that is ran through a vehicle by using multiplexed systems. Most of today's vehicles modern door lock systems are perfect examples of a multiplex system. Instead of sending conventional electrical signals when pushing your door lock button to lock the other doors, a multiplex system will convert your action to a digital signal. Basically instead of having one wire for each action of your door lock switch, one wire can do everything. Unfortunately, conventional ways of integrating your door lock system into a remote start or security system won't work on a multiplex system. Thankfully our remote start/security manufactures are always ahead of the game and we have door lock modules (at an extra cost) that allow us to integrate your door lock system into your new remote start or security system. Integrating your door locks into the security/remote start system allows you to have both your remote start and keyless entry on one remote. There is no need to carry two remotes.

Certain connections on a remote start system have to be soldered for the remote start to function properly. If these connections are not soldered not only will it cause problems with the functions of the remote start, it can keep you from starting the vehicle with the key as well. We assure you at SOUNDS FAST we solder these connections.

Your safety and the safety of anybody working on your vehicle is our top priority. This is why we install a hood pin on every remote start system at SOUNDS FAST. A hood pin will keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is open. We are surprised when when we get a vehicle in that another shop has installed a remote start and there is no hood pin. In our opinion this should be a standard on ANY remote start system!

SOUNDS FAST technicians are always attending the latest training from our manufactures. We feel this is vitally important to keep us up to date on today's modern vehicles. On top of training we make sure our techs have the latest tech software and tools at their disposal. This assures they don't go into a vehicle "blind".

A remote start installation should be taken very seriously. We assure you at SOUNDS FAST your remote start installation will be done right the first time. We believe in the steps we take during an installation so much that we put a lifetime warranty on every installation that leaves our store. With over 5000 remote starts sold and installed, SOUNDS FAST is Central Oregon's remote start headquarters.

I've recently had my car here 2 times and my moms car here once. I purchased a ceramic window tint and automatic car starter, then did an automatic car starter for my moms car as well. All 3 of these services went 10 times better then I expected. I am very picky with my car and they couldn't have done a better job. The front desk manager Sean is great and has a ton of knowledge. I will be back for more services soon!
